Dear
Parents/Carers,
Our Geography topic in Year 1/2 this term is
‘The Continents’. During the topic we will be focussing on each
continent in turn, looking at their important geographical features and
discovering key landmarks.
To support this, we would like the children to receive postcards from different places in the world so that they can place them on a map. If you are travelling abroad in the next term or have friends or relatives who live abroad and would be prepared to send postcards to either the year group as a whole or each of the classes in Year 1/2 we’d love to hear from you. Post Cards will need to be addressed to Year 1/2 (or to 1/2 AP, 1/2AD, 1/2CH, 1/2SW or 1/2 TE respectively) at the school’s address above and only need a short message stating where they have been sent from.
Additionally, if you were born or
brought up in a country other than the UK, or if you spend any significant
amount of time in another country and would be happy to spend some time talking
to the children about it and its geographical features, please let your child’s
class teacher know.
